Ardmore Toyota & Central City Toyota participated this past week in handing out coats to children at the West Philadelphia YMCA, which is located just a couple blocks from our Central City Toyota location. We are proud to support the CARing for Kids Foundation and to put a winter coat on a child during these cold months ahead. The event was a huge success and the children were all so happy to get their new winter jackets. With the cold weather and snow already here, the children got their winter coats just in time! On Thursday, October 13th, 2011, Ardmore & Central City Toyota donated 90 coats to kids to keep them warm in the winter months. The Foundation is called Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation. We urge parents and caregivers to have their children's car seats checked on National Seat Check Saturday on Sept 24th. As part of Child Passenger Safety Week, Sept 18-24, certified CPS technicians will be available to inspect car seats and provide hands-on advice. Click here to find a child car seat inspection station nearest you. We have the 1983 Toyota Land Cruiser on display right now in the Ardmore Toyota showroom. It is not for sale but it is worth the visit. Come check out one of the last FJ 40s imported to the U.S. It is unknown how many were imported by Toyota but many guess the number to be around 300. On Sunday May 15, 2011 Ardmore Toyota hosted a group of students who are currently enrolled in the Cantor Driving School Program. Both Ardmore Toyota and Cantor driving School teamed up to come up with a fabulous program for new drivers. The program is a maintenance class where students learn from a Toyota Certified Technician about all aspects of a vehicle. Students were able to engage in different activities which included: Changing and replacing a Tire on your car in case of emergency. Proper way to replace wiper blades. How to properly check fluids (oil, transmission, brake, windshield washer fluids.) How to properly close your gas tank cover. Proper tire inflation and where the information is located. We thank all the students for participating and look forward to our next Cantor Driving School Maintenance Clinic at Ardmore Toyota for new drivers!

On April 14, 2011, Ardmore Toyota had students from Harriton High School, of the Lower Merion School District, come and visit the dealership. The students spent the afternoon learning about the automotive business for their class, which focuses on real world situations and budgeting for different everyday needs. The students learned whether they were better off leasing or buying a car, why it was valuable to put an extended warranty on a car and the importance of car insurance and GAP (Guaranteed Auto Protection) in the event of an accident. In addition, the students learned about maintenance on the car and the costs involved with oil changes, tire replacements and much more. The students were given a full tour of the entire dealership and came away amazed at the size of the dealership, and the organizational setup for everything; from sales to service and parts. The day ended with lunch for all the students and a final picture of the students who participated in the event. We look forward to having the students of Harriton High School return again to learn more about the automotive business.
