The visit allowed us to connect with students, faculty, and members of the CCP team while gaining a closer look at the important work happening throughout the facility. Celebrating a Meaningful Partnership With Community College of Philadelphia During our visit, we had the privilege of meeting with members of the CCP team, including Dr. Zanjani, Chris Lewis, Daniel Reed, Carmelo Robles, Richard Saxton, Ron Sizer, and Corrine Miller. We enjoyed learning more about the educational programs, resources, and career-focused experiences offered through the Career and Advanced Technology Center. The Community College of Philadelphia has long served as an important resource for the Philadelphia community by providing students with access to education, training, and career opportunities. Through facilities like CATC, students can gain hands-on experience and develop skills that support their professional goals. Central City Toyota is proud to support initiatives that create meaningful opportunities for students and families throughout the region. CATC Lobby Dedication Recognizes Community Support As part of this special partnership, the first-floor lobby of the Career and Advanced Technology Center is being dedicated to Max & Sandi Paul, Brad & Shira Paul, as well as Ardmore Toyota and Central City Toyota. This dedication recognizes the lasting impact of the support provided by these families and organizations. On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, members of our team joined the CCP community to capture photos at the future dedication location. Standing together in front of the dedication mock-ups created a memorable moment and provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of this partnership. The gathering allowed everyone involved to recognize the lasting legacy this support will create. Partnerships between businesses and educational institutions help ensure students have access to valuable resources, training, and opportunities that can positively impact their futures. Supporting Education and Building Stronger Communities The partnership between Central City Toyota and Community College of Philadelphia represents the impact that collaboration can have on education and workforce development. By supporting programs that provide students with career-focused learning opportunities, we can help strengthen the communities we serve. The visit was also a chance to celebrate the relationship that has grown through this partnership. Team members, students, and CCP representatives shared conversations, reflected on the importance of the collaboration, and enjoyed time together over a delicious lunch from Hymie’s Deli. The team here at Central City Toyota comes to work every day to help people throughout the community find the vehicles they need, or repair and maintain the vehicles they love. On November 22 nd, 2021, we joined together with The Enterprise Center, Walnut Hill Neighbors, and our partner dealership, Ardmore Toyota, to help feed those in need this holiday season. In preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday, we wanted to make sure that families throughout the area had a meal to enjoy. With this in mind, turkeys and everything else needed for a Thanksgiving meal were collected and given out to over 300 families at Max Paul Park this past November. Giving Back to Our Community Everyone on the Central City Toyota team recognizes that everyone needs help at different points in their life, and we want to help in every way we can. That means we help our customers to find and care for the right cars based on their specific needs every day. During special holidays like Thanksgiving, that means providing a meal to families in need. By working together with other local businesses and dozens of volunteers, we hope we were able to make this holiday a little brighter for everyone. The Ronald McDonald House and How Central City Gives Back The Ronald McDonald House is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support families of critically ill children. The Philadelphia location provides everything from lodging to transportation and meals to families whose kids are being treated at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. In addition to this program, the nonprofit hosts the Ronald McDonald camp for children with cancer and their siblings. It also provides oral health care services to children in the North Philadelphia area via the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile unit. This service is part of a partnership with St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children. Every three years, Central City Toyota gives back to this great cause with the donation of two Toyota Sienna minivans. This tradition began in 1985, initiated by Central City Toyota owner Max Paul. Since taxicabs are often expensive, the Ronald McDonald House needed a more affordable mode of transportation so they could transport families to and from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. PHILADELPHIA, PA — On October 30, 2018, Central City Toyota (CCT) attended the West Philadelphia High School Career Fair, where they met with over 60 high school students to discuss career goals and opportunities. They were eager to forge connections with Philadelphia’s future workforce and to select one bright, motivated student to become a part-time member of the dealership’s staff. The career fair took place inside the West Philadelphia High School Auxiliary Gym, located at 4901 Chestnut St. Local employers from all throughout the city gathered and set up tables, where students could stop by to introduce themselves and learn more about the attending businesses. Representing Central City Toyota were Jamie Haberle, CCT General Manager, and Donna Leonard, Human Resources Manager for Ardmore and CCT. Every student who stopped by the CCT table could fill out a registration form and take a healthy breakfast bar while chatting with Harberle and Leonard. Later, they reviewed every form and picked the top 10 students they felt would make a great addition to the CCT team. Those 10 would be invited in for a group interview, and from there, one student would be offered part-time employment. During the event, Haberle and Leonard coordinated with Desiree Easter. Easter is the University-Assisted Community School (UACS) Post-Secondary Readiness Program Manager and is associated with West Philadelphia High School, the Netter Center for Community Partnerships, and the University of Pennsylvania. If you're searching for a spring sports league, make sure to check out a few of these options throughout the city. Kickball For athletes who love to relive a bit of their youth, there's no better choice this spring than kickball. Brought to you by Philly Sports Leagues, this adult kickball league has divisions on each day of the week starting in March. Games take place at parks and playgrounds throughout the Philly area including Brewerytown, Fishtown, and Columbus Square. If you get a full team together, costs more are $40 a person. You can also sign up as a free agent if you're by yourself for only $45. Floor Hockey If you love the greatest game on ice, yet don't have the skating skills to bring your love of the game to fruition, floor hockey is the game for you. Also put on by Philly Sports Leagues, floor hockey pits two five-man teams against each other in a battle for hockey supremacy. Played exactly like ice hockey but on a floor, this sport requires fitness, form, and a stellar wrist shot. Indoor floor hockey leagues start in March on Sundays and Tuesdays, while a 6 v. 6 outdoor league takes place on Mondays and Thursdays. If you can't get enough of the action and you have a great team, don't miss out on the SeaGoal Cup, which pits the best teams in the area against each other in a winner-take-all tournament. Disc Golf For people who love hitting the links, but can't hit a golf ball to save their lives, disc golf is a great alternative. Throughout the year, including the spring, the city of Philadelphia organizes disc golf leagues at the Sedgely Woods Disc Golf Course. Built in 1977, this 27-hole course in East Fairmount Park is both scenic and challenging, and is the second oldest disc golf course in the country. You can play at your leisure or join a doubles league that holds matches every Thursday throughout the year. Casa Soccer League Known as the league that's run for players by players, the Casa Soccer League runs indoor and outdoor soccer leagues throughout the year, but the spring season is the first chance you'll get to go outside after the long winter. The magical thing about this soccer league is that it's run entirely on volunteer work, which allows the league to keep costs down. With over 5,000 members, there's a skill level and age group that's sure to fit you. If you have what it takes, you can also enter the Kelly Cup City Championship that proves your team is the best around the area.
