Toyota Safety Sense will be standard on most Toyota’s

On March 21 st, 2016, Toyota announced that, beginning with the 2018 model year, it would make Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) and Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) standard on almost every Toyota and Lexus trim level in the United States. The systems are anchored by automatic emergency breaking, which means Toyota is making that technology available four years ahead of the 2022 industry target announced last week by the federal government. Already available as a low-cost option on a broad range of Toyota and Lexus vehicles, TSS and LSS+ are designed to help address three key areas of crash protection: preventing or mitigating frontal collisions keeping drivers within their lane enhancing road safety during nighttime driving. “At Toyota, we are committed to creating better ways to move for everyone,” said Jim Lentz, President and CEO of Toyota Motor North America. Don’t Worry, Be Happy… With Your Toyota!

Are you a worrier? There is so much in the world to be worried about. But if you are looking for one less thing to worry about when it comes to your car, then look no further than Toyota. If you have a Toyota or Lexus, you can cross it off your list of things that keep you up at night. Cars.com just unveiled its Worry Free Index for 2015. 5 of the top 13 Worry free models are Toyota’s that includes: No. 1 Avalon Hybrid No. 7 Toyota Avalon No. 8 Toyota Tundra No. 9 Toyota Highlander No. 13 Toyota Prius No other automaker put more than three models in the Top 15! How did Cars.com come to this result with their Worry Free Index? They compiled the list by taking “the market’s top 120 sellers through September 2015 (roughly 90 percent of new cars sold) and analyzed reliability scores from thousands of Cars.com consumers over the most recent model years. We also scrutinized expected repair costs, which gauge the frequency and seriousness when things go wrong. But reliability alone isn’t the only component of what makes a car worry-free, so we looked at five-year estimated maintenance costs (which factor in any free-maintenance programs) and manufacturer warranties, as well.” To learn more about the Worry Free Index, click here!

Driving Away the Cold has distributed more than 220,000 new coats since 2008 using a network of YMCAs, social service agencies, school districts, homeless shelters and more. Driving Away the Cold is an initiative of the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Philadelphia Auto Show and the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia.
