What Criteria Makes a Toyota Certified Pre-Owned?

A certified pre-owned (CPO) Toyota is not just another used car. In order to obtain this certification, a vehicle must meet certain criteria to ensure it is well-equipped to hit the road again. Below is a look at the criteria that every CPO Toyota must meet before it joins our inventory. How a Used Toyota Becomes Certified Toyota’s 160-Point Inspection The hallmark of CPO certification is Toyota’s rigorous 160-point inspection that each vehicle must pass in order to earn this coveted distinction. The inspection includes mechanical, detailing, and appearance standards and covers: Audio and alarm systems Braking system Engine compartment Exterior condition and appearance Hybrid components Fuel cell components Interior condition and appearance Steering system Transmission Vehicle history Battery system Emissions and state inspection Engine coolant and HVAC system Frame, structure, and underbody Instrument panel and electronic systems Lighting systems Tires and suspension system Trunk compartment and spare tire Additional items when applicable The inspection also requires that any repairs or reconditioning be performed by a Toyota-certified technician. Vehicle History Report Every certified pre-owned Toyota comes with a detailed vehicle history report that outlines every accident, repair, routine maintenance like oil changes, liens, registrations, and more. With a CPO Toyota, nothing is kept secret from the customer. Age and Mileage Restrictions A Toyota CPO may not be more than 6 years old or have more than 85,000 miles under its belt, ensuring you’re getting a vehicle with plenty of life left in it. Warranties In order for a Toyota to be sold as a CPO, it must be accompanied by Toyota’s CPO warranty that includes: 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper protection 1-year/12,000-mile additional CPO bumper-to-bumper warranty 7-year/100,000-mile CPO powertrain warranty Roadside assistance Find Your Toyota CPO in Philadelphia, PA Start your journey by browsing the inventory of Toyota CPO vehicles for sale at Central City Toyota in Philadelphia, PA. How to Compare Cars

Finding the right car to match your lifestyle can be overwhelming — but it doesn’t have to be. Continue reading for some helpful tips, so you can compare top candidates and drive home in the perfect car. 3 Areas for Car Comparison Compare Design Features The design of a car goes far beyond model, style, and color. When comparing cars, consider design features that could affect versatility, comfort, and performance. If you have a growing family or if your lifestyle requires you to alternate between transporting passengers and gear, then features like split-folding seats with upholstery that can take a beating or be easily cleaned will be a game changer. If you’re looking for a car that provides a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of your day, then search for a car that offers heated, massage, or ventilated seating. If adventure is more your style, then look for a high-clearance vehicle to tackle tough terrain and a panoramic sunroof so you can fully appreciate the view. Compare Performance What does your daily commute look like? How often do you plan to take road trips? Will your adventures ever take you off the beaten path? What gear do you plan to take along for the ride? Be sure to compare horsepower and torque, especially if you prioritize speed, acceleration, or a vehicle’s towing capacity. If you often travel on steep terrain, Hill Assist or Hill Descent Control will prove helpful. If icy roads often plague your winters, search for an all-wheel drive option.  For a smooth, comfortable and responsive driving experience, be sure to compare adaptive steering, suspension, and wheelbase. Safety and Tech Safety will undeniably be one of your top priorities when finding your next car. You can easily find and compare car safety ratings through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Each car offers a variety of safety features to keep you and your loved ones safe. Driver-assistance technologies can help you park, merge into traffic, brake, maintain a safe cruising speed, and remain aware of your surroundings. Consider which safety features would help you drive more confidently, and search for a car that offers those features. Technology will go a long way in making your commute more enjoyable. Compare available infotainment systems to ensure you can enjoy your favorite apps and media. If you have kids, a Wi-Fi hotspot will keep them connected and occupied on long road trips. Keep your eyes safely on the road ahead by choosing a car that offers a head-up display. Consider Your Options in Philadelphia, PA The easiest way to compare cars is to experience them in person. Visit Central City Toyota to see what options are available to you. We have an extensive inventory of used cars for sale in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Toyota Continues to Be a Beacon of Longevity

Making sure your car gets regular maintenance is an easy way to help ensure that it stays on the road for years. However, some makes and models are just designed to last longer than others. Iseecars.com examined this principle in an extensive 2017 study and came up with some staggering results. So, if you’re looking for a reliable car, truck, or SUV, which should you choose? Toyota Dominates List of Cars People Keep for 15 Years Explaining the Parameters This study was designed to help give us an idea of which makes and models were still on the road after 15 years of use. The study examined over 650,000 cars, trucks, and SUVs, including foreign and domestic options. Aside from looking at different models and styles, they even took vehicles from different years, including those from 1981 to 2002. So what models came out on top? Looking at the Rankings The top 15 vehicles on the list provide immediate insight into which automaker seems to view dependability as a critical factor. Toyota has nine different models in the top 12, including the Toyota Highlander, which tops the list. After the Highlander, four more Toyotas claim spots 2 through 5, including the Toyota Sienna, the Toyota Tundra, the Toyota Prius, and the RAV4. The list also includes the Sequoia, the Tacoma, the Avalon, and the Camry. Another interesting aspect of the results is that Toyota doesn’t just have one type of vehicle on the list. With a hybrid and several sedans, trucks, SUVs to choose from, it’s clear that reliability is a focus on all Toyota vehicles. Examining the Statistics When we look closer at the study, we can see that, on the whole, these Toyotas are about two times as likely to stay on the road for 15 or more years than the average car is. While only 6.8% of owners keep the average vehicle after that period, each of the top nine Toyotas on the list is kept by at least 11.5% of its owners. After 15 years, the Highlander is still being driven by over 18% of its owners. Upon evaluating the data, it becomes clear that even used Toyotas have plenty of years left in them.
