Where to Go Ice Skating Around Philadelphia

iceskating
Do you long to get back on the ice, or are you curious about trying ice skating for the first time? There are several great opportunities to go ice skating in Philadelphia. You just have to know where to look and when. Check out the options below, and don't worry if you're a beginner. Many of the rinks offer beginner's courses and rentable skates at the door. Additionally, most are affordable family options.

Rothman Ice Rink

Need an ice skating spot close to the city center? From Nov. 11, 2016 to Feb. 26, 2017, Dilworth Park operates the Rothman Ice Rink. The park has hosted Rothman for the past two years, each time raising support for charitable sponsors. This ice rink is just outside the enormous, castle-like City Hall, and it's best to go at night when you can enjoy the glowing skyline views.

Rizzo Ice Rink

Are you more interested in a casual ice rink with a restaurant menu and low prices? This rink is free to visit when renting skates, which only costs $4, and the place has a very casual vibe, ideal for preteens and teens. Rizzo Ice Rink has public skating sessions on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays with different times. It also holds youth hockey games and skating camps.

Blue Cross RiverRink

From Nov. 25, 2016 to March 5, 2017, the Delaware River Waterfront offers a beautifully lit and decorated skating rink. There's also a toasty lodge with arcade games for when you need to warm up. In the center of it all is a huge, adorned Christmas tree and firepits for toasting marshmallows. A picture of the amazing tree is reason enough to visit, as it has over 100,000 LED lights strung around its branches.

Wissahickon Skating Club

Since 1956, this skating club has held hockey games, figure skating events, synchronized skating, and all sorts of interesting activities that families will love. From toddler introductory courses to adult mastery lessons, this is the place to be if you want to learn to skate. Wissahickon is known as the high-end ice rink of Philadelphia, with a gigantic amount of space, snack bar, and pro shop where you can learn more about different kinds of skates and have yours sharpened to perfection.

Palace Roller Skating Center

Palace Roller Skating Center is a perfect family night out for fans of skating and video arcades. Though all ages are welcome, Palace has a reputation for being less crowded with kids. Their adult sessions held from night to the wee hours of the morning are perfect for relatively serious skaters. In daylight hours, Palace Roller is excellent for birthday parties, and like Wissahickon, they have a pro shop for buying and maintaining high-quality personal skates. As you can see, Philadelphia is a great city for ice skating. Some of these choices are special events in case you only skate every so often, and others are establishments that offer public skating most or all of the year. Have a great time and remember that beginners are welcome! Image by manfredrichter, used under CCO 1.0

Central City Toyota Celebrates Lasting Partnership with Community College of Philadelphia’s Career and Advanced Technology Center

At Central City Toyota, our commitment to the community extends beyond helping drivers find reliable Toyota vehicles and quality automotive services. We believe in supporting organizations that create opportunities, encourage growth, and help prepare the next generation for success. Our partnership with the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) reflects our dedication to education, workforce development, and the students who will help shape the future. Recently, our team had the opportunity to visit the Community College of Philadelphia’s Career and Advanced Technology Center (CATC) to learn more about the innovative programs and opportunities available to students. The visit allowed us to connect with students, faculty, and members of the CCP team while gaining a closer look at the important work happening throughout the facility. Celebrating a Meaningful Partnership With Community College of Philadelphia During our visit, we had the privilege of meeting with members of the CCP team, including Dr. Zanjani, Chris Lewis, Daniel Reed, Carmelo Robles, Richard Saxton, Ron Sizer, and Corrine Miller. We enjoyed learning more about the educational programs, resources, and career-focused experiences offered through the Career and Advanced Technology Center. The Community College of Philadelphia has long served as an important resource for the Philadelphia community by providing students with access to education, training, and career opportunities. Through facilities like CATC, students can gain hands-on experience and develop skills that support their professional goals. Central City Toyota is proud to support initiatives that create meaningful opportunities for students and families throughout the region. We are honored to be part of a partnership focused on strengthening the community and helping prepare future generations for success. CATC Lobby Dedication Recognizes Community Support As part of this special partnership, the first-floor lobby of the Career and Advanced Technology Center is being dedicated to Max & Sandi Paul, Brad & Shira Paul, as well as Ardmore Toyota and Central City Toyota. This dedication recognizes the lasting impact of the support provided by these families and organizations. On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, members of our team joined the CCP community to capture photos at the future dedication location. Standing together in front of the dedication mock-ups created a memorable moment and provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of this partnership. The gathering allowed everyone involved to recognize the lasting legacy this support will create. Partnerships between businesses and educational institutions help ensure students have access to valuable resources, training, and opportunities that can positively impact their futures. Supporting Education and Building Stronger Communities The partnership between Central City Toyota and Community College of Philadelphia represents the impact that collaboration can have on education and workforce development. By supporting programs that provide students with career-focused learning opportunities, we can help strengthen the communities we serve. The visit was also a chance to celebrate the relationship that has grown through this partnership. Team members, students, and CCP representatives shared conversations, reflected on the importance of the collaboration, and enjoyed time together over a delicious lunch from Hymie’s Deli. Central City Toyota is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Community College of Philadelphia and support the continued success of the Career and Advanced Technology Center. The lobby dedication represents more than a physical space — it represents a shared commitment to education, opportunity, and creating a positive impact for future generations of students. We look forward to continuing our partnership with CCP and supporting initiatives that help make a difference throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding communities.

Serving Our Community by Providing Families in Need with a Thanksgiving Meal

The team here at Central City Toyota comes to work every day to help people throughout the community find the vehicles they need, or repair and maintain the vehicles they love. While this is what we happily do for a living, we’re also proud to serve the community in a variety of other ways. On November 22 nd, 2021, we joined together with The Enterprise Center, Walnut Hill Neighbors, and our partner dealership, Ardmore Toyota, to help feed those in need this holiday season. In preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday, we wanted to make sure that families throughout the area had a meal to enjoy. With this in mind, turkeys and everything else needed for a Thanksgiving meal were collected and given out to over 300 families at Max Paul Park this past November. Giving Back to Our Community Everyone on the Central City Toyota team recognizes that everyone needs help at different points in their life, and we want to help in every way we can. That means we help our customers to find and care for the right cars based on their specific needs every day. During special holidays like Thanksgiving, that means providing a meal to families in need. By working together with other local businesses and dozens of volunteers, we hope we were able to make this holiday a little brighter for everyone. We know that having the opportunity to serve the community is deeply meaningful to the whole team here at Central City Toyota. As we look forward to continuing the holiday season and entering the new year, we hope to be able to continue to work with the overall community to make sure that everyone has what they need, whether that concerns a new Toyota or otherwise.
