Central City Toyota Helps Keep Philadelphia Kids Warm with Annual Winter Coat Donation

That's why we're proud to continue one of our favorite annual traditions: donating brand-new winter coats to children in need through Families Forward Philadelphia.
As temperatures begin to drop, something as simple as a warm winter coat can make a meaningful difference in a child's everyday life. Through our continued participation in the Driving Away the Cold initiative, we're helping ensure more children throughout the Philadelphia area have the warmth and comfort they deserve this winter.

Driving Away the Cold, One Coat at a Time

Each year, we team up with the Auto Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP) and its charitable organization, the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, to participate in the Driving Away the Cold program. Established in 2008, this initiative began with a simple but powerful mission: provide brand-new winter coats to children facing financial hardship across the five-county Philadelphia region.
What started as a pledge from local dealerships to donate a new coat for every vehicle sold during September has grown into an incredible community effort. Today, approximately 200 dealerships participate in the initiative, which has distributed more than 700,000 new winter coats to local children since its inception. We're proud to be part of a program that demonstrates what our automotive community can accomplish when we come together for a shared purpose.

Supporting Families Forward Philadelphia

Our annual coat donation benefits Families Forward Philadelphia, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families experiencing homelessness and housing instability find stability, support, and hope. Through its housing, shelter, and educational programs, Families Forward Philadelphia works to strengthen families and provide resources to help them build brighter futures. By partnering with this organization, we're able to contribute to a cause that directly benefits children and families in the community we're proud to call home. For children facing financial challenges, a brand-new coat represents more than protection against the cold. Central City Toyota Helps Haul Away Hunger at the 17th Annual Toyota Tundra Food Drive

At Central City Toyota, supporting our community means more than serving drivers throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding Pennsylvania communities. It means coming together to make a meaningful difference for our neighbors. On October 14, 2026, Central City Toyota and our sister dealership, Ardmore Toyota, proudly participated in the 17th Annual Toyota Tundra "Haul Away Hunger" Food Drive, a remarkable community effort that brought together Toyota dealerships, local businesses, and volunteers to support Philabundance and families facing food insecurity across the Philadelphia region. This year's event marked a major milestone, with a record-breaking food collection and enough donations to provide nearly 300,000 meals to individuals and families in need. More Than 80 Toyota Tundras Come Together for a Greater Purpose One of the most memorable moments of the day was seeing 84 Toyota Tundra pickup trucks join a massive convoy through Philadelphia. Loaded with pallets of donated food, the trucks departed from West Berks Street in North Philadelphia and traveled through the city with a police escort before arriving at Citizens Bank Park. At the stadium, volunteers and crews unloaded the food from the Tundras and transferred it into large Philabundance trucks for distribution throughout the community. The impressive convoy was a powerful reminder of what can happen when people and organizations work together toward a shared goal. Each truck carried more than food; it represented the generosity of countless individuals committed to fighting hunger. Central City Toyota and Ardmore Toyota Proudly Represent Our Community Representing Central City Toyota and Ardmore Toyota at this year's event were Brad Paul, Osman Osman, Tim Bell, and Chaz Bond.
