Golfer tees off at 2018 Hit 'em for the House charity event

On June 4, 2018, the Huntingdon Valley Country Club hosted the 2018 Hit ‘em for the House Golf Outing, presented by Ron Krancer and family. As one of the sponsors for the event, Central City Toyota helped raise $150,000 for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House (PRMH), which provides comfort and support to families of seriously ill children.

This year, Central City Toyota donated a Hole in One on four holes of Huntington Valley’s historic golf course. Also in attendance were Club House Sponsor, P. Agnes, and Golfer Gift Sponsors, Permalith Plastics, Crowley Chemical, and Rusmar Foam Technologies.

The all-day event featured a competitive tournament on the prestigious course, currently ranked 78 on Golfweek Magazine’s Top 100 Classic Courses. Youngblood Group was the winning foursome of the tournament. The day also included lunch, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and silent and live auctions.

One of the outing’s highlights was the Helicopter Ball Drop, which was sponsored by Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls and Bread and won by Bobby Smith. You can relive all the exciting action of the Ball Drop below.

Another high point was special guest, Tom Coyne. Besides being an avid golfer, Coyne is the author of A Gentleman’s Game, Paper Tiger: An Obsessed Golfer’s Quest to Play with the Pros, and A Course Called Ireland: A Long Walk in Search of a Country, a Pint, and the Next Tee, as well as an assistant professor of English at St. Joseph’s University.

About PRMH

Established in 1974, the PRMH is the first of the Ronald McDonald House Charities. At their two Houses, PRMH provides services to keep families of seriously ill children together. The Houses are located near Philadelphia’s local hospitals, offering peace of mind for parents and a welcoming place for families to stay while their children receive treatment.
