Aside from its art, the Barnes Foundation is also known for its sustainable roof and a glass canopy that glows in the evenings.
The Franklin Institute
Appropriately named, the Franklin Institute is a museum dedicated to the sciences, ranging everywhere from sports to space. You can discover the physics behind your favorite sports games, view the Earth-orbit research station, and so much more. In 2015, the Institute opened a brand new exhibit, the SportsZone, where you can enjoy 21 different interactive zones all related to sports. There’s even a 79-foot IMAX screen and the second oldest planetarium in North America.
The Penn Museum
If you are looking for something other than paintings, the Penn Museum is the place you need to be. This institution is also referred to as the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, where you will learn about the scientific expeditions made to Ancient Greece and Italy. There’s even a 15-ton Egyptian Sphinx housed at this museum, among nearly one million more equally as fascinating artifacts.
The Please Touch Museum
For a kid-friendly adventure, one that will ward off yawns and tantrums, is the Please Touch Museum. This facility was designed with little ones in mind, creating a world where they can learn and explore with hands-on, interactive exhibits.
